A Montana ranching family faces off against others who are invading their land. Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is an expert in the world of rodeo. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget” his Montana accent and revert to his usual Southern California speaking voice. Appeared in WatchMojo: Top 10 Summer TV Shows Not on Your Radar (2018). I live in Darby, MT, where most of this series is filmed – they were filming right in front of my house yesterday in a field with some horses and cattle. I think the show has a pretty solid story and is in the niche where Costner is at his best. One thing I noticed about the first season, being half Native American, is that it leaves you wondering who the good guys are and who the bad guys are – maybe both sides are both good and bad. I admit it’s cool to see them filming while they’re here, the ranch is right around the corner and I pass by almost every day on my way to fish the Bitterroot River.
