Art the Clown is set to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully fall asleep on Christmas Eve

Director Damien Leone has stated that several major studios have expressed interest in financing the film due to the unexpected success of Terrifier 2 (2022), even without a complete script, but he has turned them all down because he is certain that they would never let him film the opening scene alone, which he describes as “very controversial”. Leone has commented that the only reason he can be so uncompromising in his depiction of horror and gore is because he finances his films independently, creates all the special effects himself to keep costs down, and does not have a major studio breathing down his neck to make the film more mainstream. Mia mentions that the 5th anniversary of the original massacre was coming up soon, but it took place on Halloween, and this movie taking place on Christmas 5 years later would mean that the anniversary had just passed 2 months ago.

Everyone gives this movie a 1: there’s no story, it’s just an excuse for blood. Each sequel has kids going to camp (or New York, or outer space LOL) and getting killed in increasingly creative ways. You’d think anyone who watched the third installment of the Terrifier franchise would know what to expect from this movie.

Given that, there’s no real plot other than Art killing during the holidays; this time, he’s accompanied by Victoria instead of the Little Pale Girl from the second movie

While the movie as a whole is perhaps the most aesthetically pleasing (the Christmas look is great and the blood/effects are more realistic), I prefer the raw, gritty feel of the original. There are some very imaginative kills – to the point where you wonder who even thinks of these things – which adds the shock and dark humor that fans will appreciate. There’s not as much of the fantasy and supernatural aspect as in Terrifier 2, which I didn’t like anyway, so this movie is a nice return to form for Art and his victims.

Good opening sequence with lots of suspense, good amount of screen time for Art’s antics, good climax and conclusion that sets the stage for Terrifier 4 (which has already been confirmed).
