Katie, a freelance video editor in dire need of work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and bizarre video. Katie eagerly accepts the gig with cash and is evicted. The video depicts people being tortured and even murdered on camera—really just an elaborately staged fiction. But when her first job leads to even more productive work and disturbingly realistic smell films, Katie’s life begins to fall apart. Strange figures in his apartment, terrifying nightmares that keep him awake, and a mysterious illness afflicting his cat. It’s only when Katie finally decides to quit her job that she discovers just how cruel her unnamed employer really is and how she herself is trying to get out of the contract.
