A prequel to the original Dune, it chronicles how the Rossak Sisterhood evolved into the Bene Gesserit. The incident with Valja Harkonen using a voice is from one called the “Mentats of Dune.” All three books intertwine the development of the Sisterhood, Mentats, Navigators, and Sook Doctors. I knew it couldn’t match the quality of the movies, but I didn’t expect it to be this…mediocre.
Without depth, conversations are sometimes quite unpleasant
For a moment I thought it was an Amazon production, not HBO. It’s not the right casting choice for some roles; no because the actors are bad but just not right for the role. There’s too much going on in the first episode and jumping from scene to scene feels rushed.
I really hope it gets better
Also, some scenes make me wonder why they even bothered filming them. No real special effects, it feels a bit low budget. I’m not sure what camera they used, but the photos look too ordinary.
