The main part of this announcement was to be a presentation of a significant change in the user interface, codenamed Sun Valley. There’s something to love about every episode

The attempt isn’t complete, but please name any stuck shows or movies and I’ll check them right away. However, the telling of the main story is disrupted by the inclusion of the M16 agent’s family drama, which seems like filler thrown in to satisfy the “principle” of formulaic scenarios. I will leave out these unnecessary scenes so that the main plot lines move at the same pace.

I’m in the middle of episode 4 and appreciate the effort and intent. Plus, he loves the tie, nods to the original film and the sniper rifle update, suspending disbelief to 11 that it passes airport x-rays, not to mention the magical sound suppressor, and no one knows. It’s imperfect anyway, but I’ll watch it to the end, appreciate the effort, and be interested in what decisions they make to tell a compelling story.

At its core, it’s a revenge story

Damn! I had no idea what I was in for when I started watching this AppleTV+ limited series starring Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. “Disclaimer” is based on a novel of the same name by Renée Knight, and it was written for the screen and directed by Alfonso Cuarón.

Blanchett, as always, is fantastic here and Kline also delivers a solid performance

Blanchett stars as Catherine, a journalist whose secrets from her past come back to haunt her in alarming ways, forcing her to confront that past as it wreaks havoc on her entire life. This was a masterfully told story, taking us on a fascinating journey of discovery as the audience learns (sometimes in vivid detail) about the “events” of Catherine’s past. It was surprising to see Sacha Baron Cohen in a more serious role, but he did it justice.

But boy, am I glad I stuck around

Despite a few minor flaws, I highly recommend this series if you enjoy character drama with a bit of added tension/intrigue. Note: There are some pretty graphic depictions of sex/intimacy shown in various episodes. It’s not action-packed, and it took about half an episode (about 30 minutes) before I was finally “hooked” on the story.
